The majority of Republican senators are privately saying they feel confident that former Rep. Matt Gaetz will not pass Senate confirmation to become President-elect Trump’s attorney general, NBC’s Julie Tsirkin reports. Several senators would still like to see the House Ethics Committee report on Gaetz, although the report’s future is now unclear.
